Stu Pederson Welcomed as Power Manager
Niagara Power Director, Patrick Tutka, and General Manager, Jeff Ziemecki, are happy to announce the hiring of Stu Pederson as its field manager for the 2020 season.
Pederson played three years of collegiate baseball at the University of Southern California, followed by a 12 year professional career with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays, including multiple stops with the Syracuse Chiefs.
Pederson comes to Niagara Falls after spending the past two seasons as an assistant coach in the Northwoods League, with the Duluth Huskies and La Crosse Loggers. Prior to his time in the Northwoods, Pederson spent one season as the field manager for the North Adams Steeplecats of the New England Collegiate Baseball League, and four seasons as an assistant coach for the Anchorage Glacier Pilots of the Alaskan Collegiate League.
Statement from General Manager, Jeff Ziemecki
"We are very excited to bring Stu Pederson to Niagara Falls. He brings a wealth of experience and baseball knowledge with a premium on player development to the Power. Above all, he is a culture builder as a leader, and we are committed to continually building on our championship culture from a year ago."
Statement from Director, Patrick Tutka
"Rarely do you have the opportunity to bring someone with such an incredible background as a professional player and yet someone so humbly tied to the roots of the game into an opportunity like this. I truly believe that the Power will be in an even better place in 2020 on and off the field through the hiring of Stu Pederson. His immense personal and professional connections will allow us to continue to develop an outstanding program here in the Falls, bringing high quality baseball to the city.
