Power Surge Past The Rapids For Home Opener Victory

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. - After a tough loss last night in Rochester, The Niagara Power give the fans a strong showing in their home opener an 8-3 win against The Genesee Rapids. The Niagara Power came out strong in the Bottom of the first as Josh Surowiec hits a bases-loaded sac fly to make the game 1-0. The Rapids responded in the top of the third to make the game tied at 1 until the bottom of the 6th. The Power scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th to make the score 7-1. And then scored a late run in the bottom of the 8th to make the final score 8-3. Wessells, Blanchard, Carlini, and Burnett each collected 2 hits. While Surowiec, Espinal, Penman, and Boes each collected 1 hit. Conrad Voss the starting pitcher ended the game with 7 strikeouts. The player of tonight’s game was Lawson Burnett. Burnett had 2 hits, along with 2 runs scored and recorded 1 RBI.
