Power Split Doubleheader with Olean Oilers at Home

NIAGARA FALLS - N.Y.

Game 1

After a couple scoreless innings, the Oilers started off game 1 with a 2-run home run. After that in the top of the 4th, The Power got out of a bases-loaded jam with a 4-6-3 double play, from Brett Lindsay and Lawson Burnett. In the top of the 6th, The Power went down 6-0 and battled back in the bottom of the 7th to make the final score 6-2. Marcus Espinal started the bottom of the 7th off with a lead-off single, as Garrett Boes continued with a shot to right field. Brett Lindsay had the 2 RBI single up the middle to make the score 6-2. Tough loss for The Power as they battled hard to come back against the Olean Oilers.

Conrad Voss takes the loss in the circle for the power with 6 innings pitched and 4 strikeouts.

Game 2

The Olean Oilers took an early 1-0 lead in game 2. However, The Power responded with 2 runs in the bottom of the 4th. Jaylon Lee singled and Garrett Boes reached on a drop third strike. Nick Carlini knocked in the first run (Lee) with a single. Another run followed (Boes) on the same play due to a throwing error from the Oilers. The Oilers quickly tied it back up at two in the top of 5. The Power made some great defensive plays to keep the score tied at 2. The Power loaded up the bases in the bottom of the 7th with singles from Lawson Burnett and David Wessells and an intentional walk to Derek Penman. The Power then earned the walk-off victory with Marcus Espinal’s walk.
