Genesse Rapids (0-1) vs Niagara Power (0-1)
Saturday, June 2nd - 7:05 P.M.
Sal Maglie Stadium - Niagara Falls, N.Y.
NIAGARA FALLS N.Y. - The Niagara Power is back at Sal Maglie Stadium tonight after a 2-year hiatus from the NYCBL. The team kicked off the 2018 season last right in Rochester with a 6-4 loss to the Ridgemen. The game will be broadcasted over Facebook Live on the Niagara Power official Facebook page.
Genesee kicked off their season last night on the road as well, with an 8-7 loss to the Wellsville Nitros in Houghton due to weather circumstances.
This is the first Niagara Power home game since June 2015 when the Power had an 8-2 win over the Geneva Twins. Current Manager of the Power Caleb Lang was 2 for 5 that night with an RBI helping propel his team to victory. Tonight he is hoping to lead his team to victory in a much different role as the skipper.
Lang talked about his first time managing in the NYCBL and how opening night went last night in Rochester. “It was a fun time, it’s always fun to come out and play baseball. Just to be apart of the game is a privilege, honor. These guys are a good team and will have a good year.”
Parking at Sal Maglie Stadium is available in the lot closest to gate 1 (behind home plate) and street parking, as well as Hyde Park Ice Pavilion. Gates will open at 6:00 P.M.
